Světový pohár Fort William – 5.místo
Skotské městečko Fort William bylo další zastávkou světového poháru. Na toto místo jsem poprvé zavítal už v roce 2002, kdy tu měl světový pohár premiéru. I přesto, že jsem tu byl již několikrát, mě Skotsko nepřestává fascinovat, hlavně když se natrefí na hezké počasí, jak tomu bylo například letos. Po poměrně dlouhé cestě, která v sobě obsahovala i 16ti hodinový trajekt jsme konečně dorazili na místo. Byl jsem vážně překvapen, jak dobré počasí tu panuje a těšil jsem se, že po několika deštivých dnech v ČR si budu moct zajezdit na kole a nebýt zablácený.
Dráha byla první tréninkový den úplně stejná jako loni, ale nakonec se organizátoři rozhodli zavřít kamenitou pasáž a zařadili místo ní objezd po staré dráze, což přidalo atraktivitě v závodních bojích. Trať byla také hodně kamenitá a s velkým množstvím prachu bylo těžké dojet do cíle bez větších chyb.
Poslední tréninkovou jízdu prvního dne se mi podařilo přetrhnout řetěz na startu a měl jsem celkem nepříjemný pád, kdy to trochu schytalo kolo a já si pořádně narazil onu partii mezi nohama. Další den to ale naštěstí bylo relativně v pohodě, kolo jsem dal do kupy a mohl jít na kvalifikaci. Po jedné větší chybě v posledních dvou zatáčkách jsem se kvalifikoval na 8. místě.
V závodní den se mi jezdilo poměrně dobře a podařilo se mi probojovat do malého finále. Tam mi vyšel parádně start a hned jsem se ujal vedení, které se mi podařilo udržet až do cíle a skončil jsem celkově tedy na 5. místě! Závod opět vyhrál Jared Graves… A v ženách všem ukázala záda Jane Horáková, kterou zezadu jistila 3. místem Romana Labounková.

skoda, ze jsem tam nebyl v sobotu. sem se jel podivat a zna DH v nedeli a na startovni listine byl jen Matej Charvat A Filip POlc. Ani nevim jestli sem je vyfotil. kazdopadne gratuluji
